I intended to post this update a long time ago, but I got distracted. This is the Halo themed pistol prop that I made using my new Makerbot Replicator. I painted it using a matte black base, with Silver Rub'N'Buff dry brushed over the top in the gray areas. I got the 3D files from
Thingiverse.com. This set of files was posted by
dan0nator, which makes him one of my new favorite people. The trigger moves, clip slides out, and the slide pulls back. I used an eye hook, a rubber band, and my Dremel tool to rig up the slide so that it snaps back into position when you pull it back.
